I have been soul searching, and have decided although I had hoped to develop and take my business to the next level, with many designs and ideas still to add to the current range, due to the economic climate and rising costs, my business cannot expand as I had wished running the business alone financially, I have therefore decided not to re order at this time, and close the business whilst it's on a positive and financial high. This has not been an easy decision, head says one thing, heart says another!
This has been an incredible journey and one I am fiercely proud of - going from a long standing idea, to a drawing, to proto types, to a commercially produced product, which totally sold out ! I was lucky to meet some amazing people along the way who supported my ideas 100%, My business made me a finalist in KOS MEDIA Business Challenge Awards, Live on BBC radio interviews, Film interviews on BBC News slot, I wrote magazine articles, appeared in a book, I took adverts, attended conferences and exhibitions to name just a few! Breastfeeding my sons gave me the ideas, and the drive to go for it! Breastfeeding really does empower you, look where it took me!
I hope my customers can understand my reasons behind my decision, Life is hard right now for small businesses, and I want the business to end happily as it started! I will continue to protect my innovative designs for the future, so watch this space, you never know what's round the corner!

My Story
I wanted to design a product that could help children become more aware of the natural feeding choices – what better way to do this than through natural play.
Dolls are often sold complete with a baby bottle or a dummy – this can be misleading. Upon research I found that dolls come equipped with bottles. Why were there not more breastfeeding related play resources available? I could not find what I wanted, so I designed a
Mum & Baby doll set to promote breastfeeding as the norm! Good life habits develop early so this is an ideal resource for toddlers and children. I worked for a long period, on the sketches, initially using hand sewn proto types, these proved a “hit” with our sons. As I wanted my designs to be a viable product for the general public, I sourced an excellent long standing toy manufacturer to help make my dreams a reality, who created my product ranges, to a very high standard. And so in 2008 my online store opened - my
educational dolls, known as Boobie Buddies, were born!
My designs incorporate secure internal magnets, at key points throughout the bodies, which enable the Mum & Baby Doll set to kiss, hold hands and show breastfeeding positions, Mum is also anatomically correct, to show Breastfeeding. With Boobie Buddies breastfeeding dolls, children can soon understand how babies can be fed, and more importantly nurtured. This will help children understand that breastfeeding can be the perfectly “natural way” to feed a baby. Commercially made to the highest safety specifications, and fully safety tested, these dolls have several secure integral "hidden" magnets so the ‘baby’ doll can kiss, hold hands and role play breastfeeding with its ‘Mummy’ doll. These ingenious dolls make an excellent present for your toddler as you welcome your new baby – your older child can sit with you, while you nurse the little one, and the older child can role play with their very own Mum and baby! Boobie Buddies doll sets have proven to be an extremely useful resource in toy libraries, play groups, breastfeeding groups and organisations, they have been incredibly popular in Children’s Centres, and Nurseries throughout the UK – Used by Midwives, NHS, Doulas, Nurseries, NCT, Sure Start, LLL groups and members, Child Minders, Families, and Peer Support Groups and Schools to name a few!
Boobie Buddies conform to the European (1, 2 & 3 EN71) and USA (UCPSC) toy safety Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR) guidelines followed on hand tags, labels and packaging. Rigorous safety testing has been carried out during production.
